Vina McDermott
Vina has dedicated over 30 years to working with individuals with autism, serving in a variety of roles that reflect her deep commitment and expertise. She began her career as a paraprofessional and early interventionist, supporting children and families with compassion and skill. In 2007, she earned her certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), further advancing her ability to provide evidence-based support and make a lasting impact in the field of autism services.
As a BCBA, Vina has worked in early intervention, in public schools, and has provided in-home services to families throughout her career. As a parent of a now-adult with special needs, she brings a unique perspective and understanding “from both sides of the table,” ensuring that parents are recognized as the most important members of any team supporting their child. She prides herself on building trusting relationships with the children she works with—relationships grounded in compassion, genuine interest, engagement, and fun.
She currently resides in Waterbury, CT, and enjoys kayaking, hiking, and relaxing by the campfire.
