Viktoriya Andreevskaya
Counseling Intern
Viktoriya is a counseling intern completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Fairfield University. Her multicultural background informs her approach to counseling and helps her connect with clients from diverse walks of life. Raised in Russia and later immigrating to the United States, she has personally experienced the challenges of adjusting to a new culture, building a sense of belonging, and navigating life between different worlds. Before entering the counseling profession, she worked for 13 years as a translator at the United Nations, where she collaborated daily with people from countries and cultures across the globe. These experiences have fostered a deep respect for cultural diversity and the unique stories that shape each person. Viktoriya strives to provide a compassionate, inclusive environment where clients can explore their experiences and identities without judgment. Viktoriya’s therapeutic approach is informed by the principles of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She also incorporates mindfulness-based and somatic approaches, including breathwork and body awareness practices, to support emotional regulation, deepen self-awareness, and help clients reconnect with their own inner wisdom. Viktoriya is a certified yoga teacher in the Viniyoga tradition and has a longstanding interest in Eastern philosophy and spirituality.
